In these changing times it is imperative that students and teachers are given the opportunity to learn and teach in a safe, secure and peaceful environment.

Bay City I.S.D. Police Department was organized in August, 1992 to improve the safety and security on district campuses and facilities. The department has grown through the years from one officer to now a staff of Chief, Lieutenant, five Officers, and a Secretary/Dispatcher.

The mission of the department is to protect the safety and welfare of persons and district property at all Bay City Independent School District facilities and property within carefully prescribed Policy, Ethical, Statutory and Constitutional restrictions.

We are indeed thankful for the cooperation and support given to us by Superintendent Richard Walton and the Board of Trustees for recognizing the need to protect the educational environment in our schools.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

MISSION

            The mission of the Bay City I.S.D. Police Department is to protect the safety and welfare of persons and district property at all Bay City Independent School District facilities and property within carefully prescribed Policy, Ethical, Statutory and Constitutional restrictions. The mission of the Bay City Independent School District Police Department is to be fulfilled using in-house personnel and equipment where practical and by assistance from local Law Enforcement as necessary.

            Protection, Prevention, Education

·        Prevent Unlawful Acts

·        Suppress Disturbances

·        Apprehend Offenders (arrest violators)

PHILOSOPHY

            It is the intent of the Police Department personnel to minimize its intrusion into the daily operation of its Instructional Program and Local Campus Management, consistent with applicable, Federal, State and Local Laws and the Board of Trustees Policy
