Bay City ISD Transportation Department
Reminders to Parents and Students
- All times listed are approximate times. The BCISD Transportation Department reserves the right to adjust time according to the student ridership on each of the routes.
- Be early to your stop, especially the first few days.
- Bus Registration forms must be filled out completely and signed by the parents and returned to the School Bus Driver. After the second week of school, any student not properly registered will not be allowed to ride the bus. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE REGISTERED.
- Eligible students (those living more than two miles from their schools or in Designated Hazardous Areas) are transported.
- BCISD does not transport students to baby sitters. Transportation is provided for students from place of residence to the school they attend and back home.
- Special Education students are assigned transportation by the school.
- Bus Stops are assigned by the Transportation Department to fit the needs of the students transported.
- Parents or designated adults are required to be at the bus stop for the loading/unloading of Pre-K and Kindergarten students. This will help ensure their safety.
- The School Bus is considered an extension of the classroom. All students are required to follow the rules of the bus and handle themselves accordingly. Student misconduct will be coordinated through the Transportation Director's office in the prescribed manner.
- Transporting our students to and from school is a TREMENDOUS TASK and their safety is our primary concern. Should you have any questions concerning the transportation of your child, feel free to call the Transportation Department.
- During the first week of school, each student will be given a list of rules to follow while on the school bus. Parents are encouraged to go over these rules with their student. The rules will be enforced to ensure the safe operation of the school bus.
