Ag Day, Nov. 6, 2009

The Matagorda County Farm Bureau sponsored Ag Day on Nov. 5-6 at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds for the county's fourth grade students. BCISD attended on Nov. 6, where students learned about the processes behind growing the foods they eat and other area agricultural industry information.
Students moved in small groups among demonstrations and activities which showcased the county's agricultural industry. The students got to not only hear from ag experts, but also got to actively participate in many of the demonstrations.
Information regarding dairy farms, turf grass farming, beef cattle, poultry farms, rice farming, and others was shared with the students.
LCRA employees pitched in and served lunch to the kids.
