Parents: reminder meet the teacher is tomorrow night, Thursday, September 9 from 6 to 7:45.  Come meet your child's teachers and stop by the library for book fair!

Sign up for the PSAT.  Students in an Eng. 2 PAP class or Eng. 3 AP class will automatically be signed up. Please encourage your students to sign up and take it, it's FREE!!! All juniors taking it can qualify for a National Merit Scholarship based on their score. They can sign up with Mrs. Jernigan in student services. The deadline to sign up is Sept. 21.

Attention sophomore class officers:  there will be a planning meeting on Thursday, September 9 for all sophomore class officers in Ms. Carr's room A134.

 
Seniors and Juniors please pick up your student ID from student services.  You may pick it up during lunch or after school.
 
Key Club will have its first meeting Wednesday, September 8 at 3:40 in the lecture hall.  All interested students in 9-12 grade may join.
 
Attention Seniors!  It is time to start preparing for your big night! Graduation--no the party after--all seniors and their parents are invited to attend the first project grad meeting on Monday, September 13 at 6 in the cafeteria. 
 
Leo club will meet Thursday, September 9 after school.  Come be a part of a new service club.  9-12 graders are welcome!
 
Seniors:  you may request transcripts from the registrar's office.  Please come and see Mrs. Bigelow in room A102. 
 
 
Because of the rain, the parking lot will not be completed until the end of this week.  Until then, no cars will be booted.  However, no parking by any students along the fence line.  This is for parents at pick-up.  Eventual colors for designated parking:  yellow-fence and 1st row for parents; blue-next 4 rows for Seniors;green-next 4 rows for Juniors; red-Sophmores; any remaining spots are for freshman.  Please pick up your parking stickers!!
 
HOSA officer elections will be held at the next meeting, which is Tuesday, September 14 at 3:45 in the lecture hall.  HOSA membership is open until October 1st.  Dues are $12 for the year.  See Mrs. Savage in rm A229  if you want to run for office or become a HOSA member.
 
It's once again time for the Bay City Lions Club Rice Festival Queen's Pageant.  Scholarships totaling over $3,000 dollars will be given to the girls selected queen, first, second, third, and fourth runners-up.  Applications for Seniors only are available in Student Services.  The deadline for entry is Monday, September 20th.
 
The next meeting of the Blackcat All-Sports Booster Club is Monday, September 13 at 7:00 PM in the Blackcat room.  The Blackcat room is on the second floor of the athletic building and you can use the stairs or elevator in the hallway behind the gym.  We encourage fans and athletes families to join and help support all the Blackcat Sports.  Membership forms are located at www.bcblackcats.net/allsportsboosterclub   
 

Applications for the 2010 Matagorda Regional Medical Center Student Governing Board are now available in Student Services.  Positions on the Board are offered to all seniors interested in the healthcare field.  Along with being on the board, all members will be eligible for a $500 college scholarship to be awarded in the spring.  Return applications to Student Services.  Deadline is Monday, September 13th. 

 

Bay City High School Library will host a book fair September 3-10. Stop by for the latest new books. 

 

The SAT will be given at Bay City High School on Saturday, October 9th.  The deadline to register for this test is Friday, September 10th.  Stop by Student Services for registration information and financial assistance information. 

Reminder to all driving students - you must get your parking permits. Do not interrupt your class time, but drop by student services for the paperwork. You must have your license plate number, insurance card, and driver's license with you. We will begin parking lot checks this week. Early ticket sales will end at 11:30 am Friday. Be sure to get your student ticket early. The price is only $3.00 if you purchase early. The price will be $6.00 at the gate. Student tickets will be sold at the student gate. You need to have your old ID and a copy of your schedule to get into the student section. Students may sit in the regular section without IDs. Tickets are available until noon at Admin for $5 or $6 at the Main ticket window on game night.

Your Credit Union Student Branch will be open starting Sept. 8 @ 7:30am.

Listen to the Blackcat Football games every week on 92.5 FM. If you cannot get the game over the radio, you can stream the game live on your computer at kkhafm.com or get the kkha itunes app. on your iphone.    Are you a senior with a strong desire to go into the healthcare field? Then come by and pick up an application for the Matagorda Regional Medical Center Student Governing Board from Mrs. Savage in room A229. Hurry before it's too late!  Applications are due back to Mrs. Savage by September 13th.

Two new service organizations are on campus.  Come by Mrs. Grebe's room, B114, to pick up your application for Leo Club and Key Club.
