The Holmes Elementary Sign Language Club led the Bay City ISD Board of Trustees and audience members in the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags at the start of the regular school board meeting on May 20. The students "signed" the pledges while reciting aloud the words to the pledges. In this photo, the students demonstrate the sign for the word "flag." The club is directed by Stacy Haning and Ann Bond. |

Marissa Wendel's first grade class at Holmes Elementary raised approximately $1200 in their "Pennies for Disasters" campaign to benefit the students in West, Texas who lost their school. The money was presented to the local Rio Colorado Red Cross organization, who will send the money to West for the Holmes' students.
