    Sophomores and Juniors: If you took the PSAT test in October, be sure to check College Board for your scores. Starting Friday, Dec. 13th, you can come by Ms. Lopez's office in Student Services to pick you your PSAT workbook.
    Seniors: New scholarships like the Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Association Scholarship are in! Be sure to check them out on the BCHS College & Career Readiness page or the scholarship carousel located in the cafeteria.
    Paws on Planes T-shirts and Sweatshirts are on sale for ONE LAST WEEK! If you would still like to purchase, please stop by Mrs. Ursery's Room B208. Order forms are outside and can be returned with the money no later than this coming Tuesday, December 17th!
    Have you been wanting to travel but haven't felt like the time was right? Well the time is NOW! We are running a $200 off, holiday travel promotion for the 2021 trip to The Alps and the Mediterranean Coast. This trip will be visiting FOUR different countries over the course of 11 days and will be visiting some of the most beautiful places in the world. Enrollment has already begun so space will be limited. The promotion will be running until January 1st so stop by Mrs. Ursery's room B208 or B227 for more information as soon as possible! Then sit back and start envisioning yourself with your best friends, hanging out, eating gelato in Italy.
    Attention Senior Bay City Scholars, your free t-shirts will be ready for pick-up during lunches on Tuesday, December 17th. So senior Scholars, come to the cafeteria on Tuesday to get your free t-shirt from the district Communications Chief Allison Sliva.

    Anyone interested in trying out for softball, there is a MANDATORY meeting Wednesday December 18th at 3:15 in the Blackcat Room. Ladies, who are in another sport at the moment, we will get with your coaches beforehand to let them know. This meeting will not take long, but we need everyone who is interested in trying out!

     

    Don't forget: FAC is for everyone and will meet on Wednesday, December 18 at 6:50 am in A118.  All students are welcome!

  • Boys Basketball Changes

    Boys Basketball game time changes for tonight, December 10, 2019:


    JV and Freshman will play simultaneously beginning at 5:00pm
     
    JV will be playing on the Main Court while FR are playing on the Practice Court
     
    Varsity will play after the completion of those games, which should be 6:15/6:30pm

    This is a reminder for all WIT members - You have a meeting on Wednesday 12/11 at 3:10 in the cafeteria. Remember all meetings are mandatory!
    Hey Blackcats! Thursday, December 12th will be Carpool to School Day at BCHS! This means we need YOU to find a friend to ride to school with. This helps save gas and helps the environment. So start planning NOW and carpool to school on Thursday, December 12th!
    Hey Blackcats! The BCHS Student Council is sponsoring a Holiday Can Food Drive. This will be a competition between all 2nd period classes. The class that collects the most cans will receive a Donut Party! All cans must be turned in to your 2nd period teacher by Friday, December 13th. Start bringing those cans and may the best class win!
    Friday (diving) & Saturday (swimming), Bay City traveled to Freeport for the 38th annual Brazosport Invite. The girls finished 6th and the boys were 3rd, out of ten schools.

    Scoring individually for the girls were Glory Vargas (3rd in 200 IM & 4th in 100 Free), Aubry Miller (4th in 100 Backstroke & 11th in 100 Free).

    Miller, Makenzie Austin, Adonaia Curtis, & Vargas combined for 2nd place in the 400 Free Relay and 4th in the 200 Free Relay.

    Individual scorers for the boys were Ashton Wallace (3rd in diving), Matthew Brooks (5th in 200 Free & 6th in 500 Free), Chris Peralta (6th in 100 Butterfly & 12th in 50 Free), Michael Vargas (8th in 100 Free & 9th in 200 Free), Daniel Dye (9th in both 50 & 100 Free), Jordan Wright (9th in 500 Free & 10th in 200 Free), Felix Rodriguez (8th in 100 Backstroke), & Gage Kolojaco (8th in 100 Breaststroke).

    The 200 Medley Relay of Wright, Kolojaco, Peralta, & Ethan Yates was 8th. The 200 Free Relays of Vargas, Peralta, Dye, & Brooks and Rodriguez, Wright, Kolojaco, & Yates placed 2nd & 7th, respectively. Brooks, Vargas, Dye, & Rodriguez teamed up for a 4th place finish in the 400 Free Relay.

  • Bay City Baseball Team's Annual Tamale Fundraiser has kicked off! You can order tamales from any Blackcat baseball player, Coach Molinaro or at Student Services with Mrs. Longoria. 1 dozen tamales are $12 and there are 6 different options. Orders have to be received by Thursday,  December 12. Tamales will be delivered on Thursday December 19 @ Noon.
