• What is the TSI2 Assessment?

    The TSI Assessment (TSIA) is part of the Texas Success Initiative program designed to help your college or university determine if you are ready for college level course work.  The multiple choise tests focuses on the areas that are tested are reading, writing, and mathematics.   If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment, unless you are already exempt (look at the section below)- to determine your college-level coursework readiness.  Based on your performance, you may either be enrolled in a college-level course or be placed in a remedial course that provides intervention to improve your skills and prepare for college-level courses. *Also, those students who plan on enrolling in our dual credit program and early college students should take the TSI test.

    PASSING TSI Scores (January 11, 2021):

    ELA: 945  Essay: 5/ or diagnostic 5 or 6 |  Mathematics- 950/ or diagnostic 6

    old TSI Version:

    Reading: 351 | Mathematics: 350 | Writing: 340 and essay 4

    *STAAR/EOC and PSAT exemption scores are only for dual credit.


    Mandatory Pre-Assessment?

    All first-timers must complete the Pre-assessment Activity.  It is a requirement that you complete this activity before you take the test.  The activity contains an explanation of the important of the TSI assessment and how it works, practice test questions, and an explanation of all your educational development options if you don't pass the test.



    Step 1) To register for a TSI session, complete the Registration form.  You can reach the form by clicking on the link below. You will then scan the qr codes to register for exam.

    Step 2) First-timers participants, MUST complete the TSI Pre-Assessment Activity found below. It is a requirement that you complete the activity before you take the test.

    -Create a new account (use personal email address)

    -Click on 3rd option (PAA)

    -Earn certificate

    To send scores to colleges, students must log in to their accuplacer accounts.  When testing it is important that you use your personal email and that you use your school ID# as a secondary id to easily retrieve your scores.
