Mr. Rodney Fausett
Bay City ISD Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services
Mr. Rodney Fausett serves as the assistant superintendent of Administrative Services, which includes the departments of human resources, maintenance and operations, child nutrition services, PEIMS and public relations. He is committed to support and maintain an environment of quality services for the campuses and departments of Bay City ISD.
Fausett earned his bachelor’s degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1985. He continued his studies at Texas A & M University – Commerce, completing a master’s degree in education with the emphasis in Mid-Management in the spring 1994. He went on to earn his Superintendent’s certification from the Texas A & M System.
With thirty years of educational experience, our assistant superintendent has served as a classroom teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, curriculum director, business manager and superintendent in districts ranging from 2A to 4A in classifications. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at LeTourneau University.
Our assistant superintendent is committed to academic excellence and has demonstrated strong leadership in all areas of administrative experiences. He has been the administrator of “Exemplary” and “Recognized” districts and campuses. Under his direction, Mr. Fausett had one of his elementary campuses named a prestigious US Department of Education’s “National Blue Ribbon School.” Additionally, one elementary received the Title I Distinguished School. As a principal, he has been selected as the Texas Association of Secondary Schools Principal "Principal of the Year" and "Assistant Principal of the Year". Additionally, he was the McDonalds/National Association of Secondary Schools Principals in Texas "Assistant Principal of the Year" Finalist.
Mr. Fausett has led organizations such as local Chambers of Commerce, Lions Club and Rotary Club in various capacities. He has been involved in community service organizations throughout his professional career.
Mr. Fausett's work has been published in Texas Lone Star magazine. He has presented numerous times with state organizations such as Texas Association of School Boards, Texas Association of School Administrators, Association of Supervision & Curriculum Development and Texas Association of School Business Officials. Along with presenting, he has served on many committees of leadership within TASA, TASBO and TEA. Along with these state orgnizations, he has presented to many university superintendent and principal cohorts in such areas as school finance and school/community relations.
A former collegiate athlete, Mr. Fausett is recognized in Stephen F. Austin State University's Jacks of Honor and his high school's Hall of Fame. He still holds many collegiate records since his playing days. Still supporting his alma mater, he serves as vice-president of the SFA Lettermen's Association. Mr. Fausett supports students and their endeavors in extracurricular activities. Previously, he served as an UIL District Chairman and UIL Regional Advisory Committee member. He has a proven record in student success in activities that support the academics of the school.
