Campuses welcome students on first day of school

Bay City ISD welcomed students back to campuses on Wednesday, August 18, the first day of the 2021-22 school year. 

On Tuesday, estimated enrollment counts for BCISD were as follows:

Cherry Elementary (Pre-K to Kindergarten): 441

Linnie Roberts (1st-2nd Grade): 551

Tenie Holmes Elementary (3rd-5th Grade): 791

Bay City Junior High (6th-8th Grade): 853

Bay City High School (9th-12th Grade): 1-21

District Total: 3657

These numbers are expected to rise after final registration is complete. Already, BCISD has more than 200 more students enrolled in classes than last year, when the district totalled 3,447 students. 

BCISD students will have their first holiday on Friday, Sept. 3, which is a Staff Development Day. The district will have a holiday for students and teachers on Monday, Sept. 6, which is Labor Day.
