Substitute Pay Categories
Class I
$65.00 per day / *$110 per day
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Need a copy of diploma and/or transcript.
* If considered LONG TERM for ten consecutive days or more, substituting for those days for the same instructor/classroom.
Class II
$75.00 per day/*$115.00 per day
Sixty semester hours or more of college credit.
Need copy of transcript.
* If considered LONG TERM for ten consecutive days or more, substituting for those days for the same instructor/classroom.
Class III
$85.00 per day/*$120.00 per day
Bachelor's degree with no teaching certificate.
Need copy of transcript.
* If considered LONG TERM for ten consecutive days or more, substituting for those days for the same instructor/classroom.
Class IV
$100.00 per day/*$170.00 per day
Degreed and certified.
Need copy of transcript and copy of teaching certificate.
* If considered LONG TERM for ten consecutive days or more, substituting for those days for the same instructor/classroom.
Substitute Hiring Process
Step One: Complete Online Application

Complete the online application. You must attach transcripts and certifications (if applicable) before attending orientation. Call Human Resources to complete the necessary employment process.
Step Two: Fingerprinting
If fingerprinting is needed, you will be given a contact number to find an L-1 fingerprinting facility. You are responsible for scheduling this appointment. The facility will accept credit/debit card, check or money order payment. Take your Fast Pass to the appointment along with a valid ID. Otherwise, you will be notified to move on to the next step.
Once fingerprinting has been verified, you will receive an email to come to an orientation and AESOP training. Fingerprinting and paperwork must be completed before you may attend an orientaton/training.

Substitute Training / Orientation:
Substitutes must undergo a substitute teacher training/orientation. Please contact HR for the next training date.
Trainings are held at the District Administration Building, 520 Seventh Street.
You must call 979-401-1002 to sign up for trainings/orientations to reserve your spot.
All paperwork and fingerprints should be complete before attending class.
***Past Substitutes who did not submit a Letter of Reasonable Assurance and TRS-Active Care Insurance form for the current school year will have to be rehired. Please contact Human Resources at 979-401-1002.
